Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Amelia Peláez was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,828.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Amelia Peláez achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Las Hermanas in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 569,000.00 (€ 438,096.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Amelia Peláez kam im November 2017 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.828,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Amelia Peláez erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Las Hermanas im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 569.000,00 (€ 438.096,70).
