Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Amédée Forestier could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Laying tiles by the orange grove changed hands for GBP 540.00 (€ 802.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Amédée Forestier have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le déjeuner des alpinistes au sommet in September this year with an auction result of EUR 5,248.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amédée Forestier konnte im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations wechselte die Arbeit Laying tiles by the orange grove für GBP 540,00 (€ 802,02) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Amédée Forestier auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le déjeuner des alpinistes au sommet im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 5.248,00.
