Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children Playing by Alton Pickens was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 4,450.00 (€ 3,779.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alton Pickens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Acrobat in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 93,825.00 (€ 84,155.53).

Die Arbeit Children Playing von Alton Pickens wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.450,00 (€ 3.779,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alton Pickens erzielen.
