The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,070.00 (€ 26,763.72), 55% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alois Heinrich Priechenfried - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Yeshiva boy reading, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 65,000.00 (€ 73,003.36).
