Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mezzo Mural by Allen Jones was auctioned at Bonhams in London in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,680.00 (€ 8,847.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allen Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hatstand, Table And Chair (I) Hatstand (Ii) Table (Iii) Chair in February 2013 with an auction result of GBP 2,169,250.00 (€ 2,519,706.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mezzo Mural von Allen Jones kam im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.680,00 (€ 8.847,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allen Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hatstand, Table And Chair (I) Hatstand (Ii) Table (Iii) Chair im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.169.250,00 (€ 2.519.706,86).
