This artwork by Allan Brooks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2012. In the The National Geographic Collection: The Art of Exploration auction, the work Auks and Their Northland Neighbors sold for USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,843.93) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Allan Brooks; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Flamingos sold at auction in December 2012 with the realized price of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,739.88).
