Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work The gypsy encampment; and Figures along a country road by Alfred Vickers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,181.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Alfred Vickers have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2003 the work Sandown Bay; On the Medina, Newport, Isle of Wight was auctioned for GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,234.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The gypsy encampment; and Figures along a country road von Alfred Vickers zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.181,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Alfred Vickers konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2003 die Arbeit Sandown Bay; On the Medina, Newport, Isle of Wight für GBP 5.736,00 (€ 8.234,11) versteigert.
