In May 2003 Christies in London held the auction Maritime, which included the work Running into harbour with the tide by Alfred Vickers. The price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 4,911.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Other works by Alfred Vickers have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2003 the work Sandown Bay; On the Medina, Newport, Isle of Wight was auctioned for GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,234.11).
