Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Shepherd And His Flock by Alfred Vickers for GBP 358.50 (€ 515.70). This price was achieved in the auction PORTRAITS, BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Vickers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sandown Bay; On the Medina, Newport, Isle of Wight in November 2003 with an auction result of GBP 5,736.00 (€ 8,234.11).
