Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Menton, presque la nuit, 2è impression by Alfred Stevens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,567.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Stevens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Symphonie en vert in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 657,250.00 (€ 790,269.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Menton, presque la nuit, 2è impression von Alfred Stevens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.567,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Stevens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Symphonie en vert im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 657.250,00 (€ 790.269,07).
