This artwork by Alfred Morris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2004. In the British and Victorian Paintings auction, the work Sheep in a Highland landscape sold for GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,868.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Morris; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sheep and lambs with a sheep dog on a hillside sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,415.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Morris erzielte im Mai 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Victorian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Sheep in a Highland landscape für GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.868,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alfred Morris; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sheep and lambs with a sheep dog on a hillside im März 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.415,66).
