This artwork by Alfred Hofkunst achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2012. In the A Way of Thinking, Works From An Important Private Collection auction, the work Champs de coques de chataigne avec un fruit ouvert (Fields of Chestnut Shells with an Open Fruit) sold for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,955.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Hofkunst have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lac de Neuchâtel (Neuenburgersee, 30 Gemälde). 1980. in December 2014 with an auction result of CHF 99,600.00 (€ 82,850.48).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Hofkunst erzielte im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A Way of Thinking, Works From An Important Private Collection wurde die Arbeit Champs de coques de chataigne avec un fruit ouvert (Fields of Chestnut Shells with an Open Fruit) für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.955,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Hofkunst auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lac de Neuchâtel (Neuenburgersee, 30 Gemälde). 1980. im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 99.600,00 (€ 82.850,48).
