Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Feeding the chickens by Alfred Henry Dyer was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,780.95). Admittedly, works by Alfred Henry Dyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Beneath The Willows in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,550.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Feeding the chickens von Alfred Henry Dyer im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.780,95) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Henry Dyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Beneath The Willows im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.550,09).
