Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sailor Kissing a Nurse, V-J Day, Times Square, New York by Alfred Eisenstaedt was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,925.00 (€ 8,084.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred Eisenstaedt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Children At A Puppet Theatre, Paris' in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 39,425.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sailor Kissing a Nurse, V-J Day, Times Square, New York von Alfred Eisenstaedt kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 8.084,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Eisenstaedt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Children At A Puppet Theatre, Paris' im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 39.425,96).
