Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work British October by Alfred Chantrey Corbould for USD 34,375.00 (€ 24,696.46). This price was achieved in the auction The Sporting Sale: Equestrian, Wildlife & Maritime Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 35,000.00 – 45,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Alfred Chantrey Corbould have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2001 by the work Elford, The Favourite Hunter Of Hugo F. Meynell Ingram Esq., With Tom Leedham, The Huntsman, And Hounds At Hoar Cross Hall at USD 41,125.00 (€ 48,530.80).
