The work Waiting For The Tide by Alfred Clint was sold in the British and Victorian Paintings auction at Christies in London in September 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,740.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Waiting For The Tide is the most expensive artwork by Alfred Clint that we have observed at auctions so far.
