Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Venice At Dusk by Alexei Petrovich Bogoliubov was sold in the Russian Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 495,000.00 (€ 581,251.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexei Petrovich Bogoliubov - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Moscow. View of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour from the Kremlin, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 1,588,500.00 (€ 2,224,310.97).
