Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Paysage Avec Un Lac Entouré D'Arbres by Alexandre Gabriel Descamps was auctioned at Christies in Paris in November 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 264.00. Other works by Alexandre Gabriel Descamps have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2009 by the work Grec Vu De Dos (Recto) at EUR 496.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Paysage Avec Un Lac Entouré D'Arbres von Alexandre Gabriel Descamps im November 2006 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 264,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Alexandre Gabriel Descamps wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2009 die Arbeit Grec Vu De Dos (Recto) mit EUR 496,00.
