In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Russian Pictures, which included the work A stroll in the churchyard by Alexander von Liezen-Mayer. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,931.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A stroll in the churchyard is the most expensive artwork by Alexander von Liezen-Mayer that we have observed at auctions so far.
