Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nevil Story Maskelyne And His Wife Thereza by Alexander Munro was sold in the An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection auction at Christies in September 2021. The price achieved of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,327.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Munro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Everett Millais in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 46,250.00 (€ 52,047.60).
