Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,687.94), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Jamieson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dieppe, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,123.16).

Die Arbeit On the river, Quimperlé, Brittany von Alexander Jamieson wurde im März 2001 in der Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.687,94) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Jamieson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dieppe beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 22.123,16) versteigert wurde.
