The work Dolce Far Niente by Alexander James Mavrogordato was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,759.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dolce Far Niente is the most expensive artwork by Alexander James Mavrogordato that we have observed at auctions so far.
