Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work Saint Jerome in his Study by Albrecht Dürer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 69,713.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albrecht Dürer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Being Nailed To The Cross in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 874,000.00 (€ 806,868.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Jerome in his Study von Albrecht Dürer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 69.713,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albrecht Dürer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christ Being Nailed To The Cross im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 874.000,00 (€ 806.868,54).
