Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Prints, which included the work The Virgin with the blessing Child in a Landscape by Albrecht Altdorfer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,418.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albrecht Altdorfer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spies returning from the promised land (Joshua and Caleb) in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,528.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Virgin with the blessing Child in a Landscape von Albrecht Altdorfer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.418,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albrecht Altdorfer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spies returning from the promised land (Joshua and Caleb) im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 18.528,81).
