Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Albrecht Altdorfer could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work The Roman Courtesan (The Revenge of the Sorcerer Virgil) changed hands for GBP 438.00 (€ 517.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albrecht Altdorfer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spies returning from the promised land (Joshua and Caleb) in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,528.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Albrecht Altdorfer konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wechselte die Arbeit The Roman Courtesan (The Revenge of the Sorcerer Virgil) für GBP 438,00 (€ 517,66) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albrecht Altdorfer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spies returning from the promised land (Joshua and Caleb) im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 18.528,81).
