Despite a disappointment, a good price for Albert Pels
When the work Riverboat Musicians by Albert Pels was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,700.00 (€ 1,500.18). Despite this disappointing result, Riverboat Musicians is the most expensive artwork by Albert Pels that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Albert Pels
Als die Arbeit Riverboat Musicians von Albert Pels im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.700,00 (€ 1.500,18) den Besitzer.
