Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Cattle watering at a riverbank, a drover looking on; and Another similar by Albert Jurardus van Prooijen. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 763.75 (€ 1,235.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Albert Jurardus van Prooijen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sailing vessels in a stiff breeze in January 2001 with an auction result of NLG 17,625.00 (€ 7,712.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cattle watering at a riverbank, a drover looking on; and Another similar von Albert Jurardus van Prooijen zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 763,75 (€ 1.235,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Albert Jurardus van Prooijen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sailing vessels in a stiff breeze im Januar 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 17.625,00 (€ 7.712,36).
