The price achieved of NLG 7,050.00 (€ 3,265.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Albert Jurardus van Prooijen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sailing vessels in a stiff breeze, which sold at auction in January 2001 for NLG 17,625.00 (€ 7,712.36).
