Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Mill by Albert Fitch Bellows was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,126.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Fitch Bellows achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work By The Water'S Edge in March 2005 with an auction result of USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,953.97).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Mill von Albert Fitch Bellows im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.126,84) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Fitch Bellows erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit By The Water'S Edge im März 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.800,00 (€ 12.953,97).
