Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Two Upright Characters by Alan Davie was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in June 2014. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 86,500.00 (€ 108,077.61), 24% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alan Davie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Goddess Of The Green, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 234,000.00 (€ 347,544.02).

Die Arbeit Two Upright Characters von Alan Davie wurde im Juni 2014 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 86.500,00 (€ 108.077,61) und damit 24% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alan Davie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Goddess Of The Green beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 234.000,00 (€ 347.544,02) versteigert wurde.
