Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Christies in Dubai held the auction Middle Eastern Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work A Small Donkey Who Thought of Himself to be a Gazelle by Ahmed Al-Askalany. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,679.73) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ahmed Al-Askalany achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thinker in April 2011 with an auction result of USD 116,500.00 (€ 78,604.68).
