In December 2010 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Orientalist Paintings, which included the work Ouled-Nail by Louis Montagne. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,550.00 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Louis Montagne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Canal Saint-Sébastien À Martigues in November 2006 with an auction result of EUR 14,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2010 führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Orientalist Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ouled-Nail von Louis Montagne zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.550,00 und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Louis Montagne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Canal Saint-Sébastien À Martigues im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 14.400,00.
