The work Railway Cutting on the Lens & Arras Railway by Adrian Hill was sold in the Twentieth Century British Art auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,587.24), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Adrian Hill; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Art Shop sold at auction in January 2001 with the realized price of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,752.45).

Die Arbeit Railway Cutting on the Lens & Arras Railway von Adrian Hill wurde im September 2002 in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.587,24) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Adrian Hill; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Art Shop im Januar 2001 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 1.116,25 (€ 1.752,45).
