The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,587.24), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Adrian Hill; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Art Shop sold at auction in January 2001 with the realized price of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,752.45).
