Auction result misses estimated price range
In January this year a collector was able to acquire the work Saying Grace by Adriaen van Ostade for USD 1,260.00 (€ 1,160.43). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century Prints at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen van Ostade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work De Drinker: Three boors drinking and smoking in a spirit house in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 1,051,650.00 (€ 1,614,335.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Saying Grace von Adriaen van Ostade für USD 1.260,00 (€ 1.160,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Prints bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van Ostade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit De Drinker: Three boors drinking and smoking in a spirit house im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.051.650,00 (€ 1.614.335,41).
