Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Apollo and Daphne (recto); Fragmentary sketches (verso) by Adriaen van der Werff. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 13,948.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen van der Werff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family With The Infant Saint John The Baptist in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 458,500.00 (€ 350,561.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Apollo and Daphne (recto); Fragmentary sketches (verso) von Adriaen van der Werff zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 13.948,08) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen van der Werff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Holy Family With The Infant Saint John The Baptist im Februar 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 458.500,00 (€ 350.561,97).
