Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Adriaen Frans Boudewijns could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century Drawings auction, the work An extensive landscape with travellers on a path before a cottage; and A landscape with a farm house and two figures, a fortified village seen beyond changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,935.02) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Adriaen Frans Boudewijns have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A wooded landscape with travellers and a cart and horse; and A wooded landscape with travellers, a castle beyond in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,544.76).
