Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale, which included the work Still Life With Sea Shells by Adriaen Coorte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 212,500.00 (€ 196,177.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adriaen Coorte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Peaches On A Stone Ledge, With A Red Admiral Butterfly in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 3,442,500.00 (€ 4,431,639.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Sea Shells von Adriaen Coorte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 196.177,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adriaen Coorte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Peaches On A Stone Ledge, With A Red Admiral Butterfly im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.442.500,00 (€ 4.431.639,12).
