Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Meet by Adolphe Monticelli was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2018. The price achieved of EUR 9,375.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolphe Monticelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Au Bord De La Rivière, Marseilles in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 317,985.83).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 9.375,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolphe Monticelli erzielen.
