Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work ELEGANT WOMEN IN A PARK by Adolphe Monticelli was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,040.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolphe Monticelli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Au Bord De La Rivière, Marseilles in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 317,985.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit ELEGANT WOMEN IN A PARK von Adolphe Monticelli im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.040,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolphe Monticelli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Au Bord De La Rivière, Marseilles im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 413.000,00 (€ 317.985,83).
