Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Paintings, which included the work The Road To Chernomor by Adolphe Josefovich Charlemagne. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,900.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Adolphe Josefovich Charlemagne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Group Of Five Equine Genre Scenes, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 19,700.00 (€ 27,585.10).
