Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2003 Christies in London held the auction At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper, which included the work Figures in a coastal landscape looking out to sea; and Figures unloading beached fishing vessels at low tide by Adolf Wegelin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 688.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Adolf Wegelin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Zwei Aquarelle. Maria Laach. Kloster Nonnenwerth am Rhein in November 2011 with an auction result of EUR 4,515.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures in a coastal landscape looking out to sea; and Figures unloading beached fishing vessels at low tide von Adolf Wegelin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 688,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Adolf Wegelin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Zwei Aquarelle. Maria Laach. Kloster Nonnenwerth am Rhein im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 4.515,00.
