Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Adam Pijnacker achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2021. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work View of the Lower Rhine valley, looking from Kleve towards Emmerich sold for USD 52,920.00 (€ 43,609.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Adam Pijnacker; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot An Italianate landscape with figures and cattle crossing a bridge sold at auction in January this year with the realized price of USD 63,000.00 (€ 58,021.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Adam Pijnacker erzielte im Januar 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit View of the Lower Rhine valley, looking from Kleve towards Emmerich für USD 52.920,00 (€ 43.609,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Adam Pijnacker; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with figures and cattle crossing a bridge im Januar diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 58.021,74).
