Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt, which included the work Cavalry Charging Into Battle by Adam Frans van der Meulen. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,172.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Frans van der Meulen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The meeting between Kings Philip IV and Louis XIV on Pheasants Island in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 226,000.00 (€ 242,281.30).
