Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Figures Dancing And Playing Musical Instruments In A Claudian Landscape by Adam Callander was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,151.84). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adam Callander achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work H.M.S. Queen Charlotte With The British Squadron And Allied Men-Of-War At Spithead, Prior To Sailing To Ushant In 1794 in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,933.30).
Queen Charlotte With The British Squadron And Allied Men-Of-War At Spithead, Prior To Sailing To Ushant In 1794 im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.933,30).
