In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Un Porto Nel Baia Di Napoli; Un Castello by Achille Gigante. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 4,659.85). With this result, Un Porto Nel Baia Di Napoli; Un Castello is even the most expensive work of art by Achille Gigante that we have observed at auctions so far.
