Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Design For A Frontispiece: The Immaculate Conception, Flanked By The Assembly of Saints Above An Empty Cartouche, Adam And Eve Kneeling Below; And A Subsidiary Study of Adam And Eve by Abraham van Diepenbeeck was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction at Christies in London in July 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,756.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abraham van Diepenbeeck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Rettung des Heiligen Paulus nach dem Schiffbruch. in March 2019 with an auction result of CHF 72,500.00 (€ 64,816.08).
