In January 2001 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, which included the work Lascivia by Abraham Janssens van Nuyssen I. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 171,000.00 (€ 183,712.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Lascivia is the most expensive artwork by Abraham Janssens van Nuyssen I that we have observed at auctions so far.
