It achieved a price of GBP 47,800.00 (€ 42,944.97), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 37%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Abraham Beerstraaten - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A castle on a frozen lake with skaters, which sold at auction in December 2004 for GBP 85,890.00 (€ 121,558.01).
