Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of an elderly lady, half length, seated in an interior by Abel George Warshawsky. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 644.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abel George Warshawsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Garance in November this year with an auction result of USD 14,080.00 (€ 12,907.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of an elderly lady, half length, seated in an interior von Abel George Warshawsky zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 644,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abel George Warshawsky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Garance im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.080,00 (€ 12.907,96).
