Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Maiden with a spinning wheel) by Abdur Rahman Chughtai was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 2,363.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abdur Rahman Chughtai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Krishna Instructing Arjuna in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 215,945.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Maiden with a spinning wheel) von Abdur Rahman Chughtai wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 2.363,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abdur Rahman Chughtai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Krishna Instructing Arjuna im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 215.945,41).
